"Before this challenge I struggled with consistency and getting stuck in my own head. As a yoga teacher with a dance background, flexibility had never been an issue for me because of constant stretching and practicing. What I didn’t realize in the moment though was that I wasn’t fully “inside my body” or “inside the stretch” until we took the time to focus on the mental side of stretching and nervous system regulation. I find now that when I stretch my focus has shifted - my mind isn’t the first to be involved and instead I’m focusing on the physical effect and how my body is feeling and what it’s telling me - this was a great reminder to me that our bodies are always giving us feedback and it’s up to us to listen. I can use this information in my own practice and my own stretching, as well as with my students moving forward." - Carina

You probably don’t need to be a full blown Cirque Du Solie contortionist, but you do crave...

  • A fuller, more expansive range of motion so you can express yourself even more
  • The ability to quiet that mean little voice in your head saying your flexibility "isn't enough"
  • An arsenal of fresh, science-backed techniques that support and strengthen your flexibility goals
  • A safe, pain-free way to explore greater range of motion without extreme methods like over-splits or being sat on

We all want more flexibility.

But let's be real, it can be a bit of a pain in the neck sometimes (or hamstrings… or back… or knees…)

We get it.

You've been running through those same stretches for years and still don't feel like you're getting anywhere…

You feel like you weren’t a super flexible kid, so you’re doomed to be stiff or struggling as an adult…

And then there's that mean little voice in your head telling you that the flexibility you do have "isn't enough" because some teenager on TikTok can brush their teeth with their feet.

If you're like us, you've probably been told that flexibility is all about the time you spend stretching and practicing.

Maybe you were told “if it doesn’t hurt, it’s not working.”

Maybe you were told that if you didn’t spend all your spare time, like waiting for the bus or watching TV, stretching then you didn’t even want to be flexible.

But we're here to tell you that's a load of bull.

In fact, we've got some news for you: it's not how much time you spend stretching or practicing, but how well you learn how to use your body in the first place.

That's why we created FlexiBuild15.

 Just imagine...

An empty stage, bare except for a single downcast stoplight and you centered directly beneath it. Just as the music begins to swell, you match your breathing and seemingly inhale the airy notes. With that, your beautiful cashew foot wraps around the ankle of your standing leg, sur le cou de pied, and drags its way up your calf, past your knee, and your big toe hovers on your inner thigh. As if being carried by the notes of the ballad, your knee continues the motion and the leg floats higher toward your underarm.

The dancer with a back that bends when beckoned.

The dancer whose legs sail effortlessly upward in extensions, leaps, and battements.

The dancer who slithers in and out of the splits.

The dancer who uses these skills to share their gifts of storytelling.

We want to give dancers like you the tools they need to unlock their full potential and take their dancing to the next level - without bullying their bodies, feeling frustrated with fatigued stretches from the 70's, disrupting your entire life contorting yourself into painful postures with no permanent benefit.

As a team of professional dancers turned certified personal trainers, we have a combined decade of researching and refining our science-backed methods so that dancers can get maximum results with minimal effort, so you can focus on what matters most: your artistry.

Have you ever thought to yourself...

-I wasn’t flexible as a young dancer, so I’m doomed as an adult…

-Yoga is the best way to get more flexible…

-The stretches I learned as a dancer-in-training have been

passed down from generations; they’re tried and true and all I need…

-The only way to get more flexible is to sit in the stretch for longer..

-If a stretch doesn’t hurt, it’s not working…

-I can’t be flexible because I have muscles and curves…

Well here’s what we know…

Frankly yes, somepeople are innately more bendable than others at a cellular level or are exposed to a broader range of motion at a young age. However, with the right tools you can expand your own limits of flexibility!

Yoga, barre, pilates, and even some dance classes are great places to explore the range of our flexibility. The problem we’ve encountered is that many of these containers only DEMONSTRATE rather than DEVELOP a performer’s flexibility

Most stretches you know are outdated, meant to be used as warm-ups, or simply ineffective flexibility practices. The same way we retired the “Grapefruit & cigarettes”  diet of the 1970’s, it’s time to retire some outdated flexibility practices and replace them with shiny new ones.

If you want to get better at something, you’ll need to spend time working on that thing. The same is true with flexibility, however 50% of flexibility gains come from your nervous system— not just your muscles! Which means, gradual exposure like 5-15 minutes per day is PLENTY of time to see major flexibility progress!

We’re of the mindset that dancers should collaborate with their body– not bully themselves through pain. Stretching can be uncomfortable, that’s a fact, but we’re going to give you the tools to differentiate between worrisome pain and a moderate, effective stretch.

This is a myth we’ll put to bed immediately. Having muscle or having body fat do not impair one’s ability to gain flexibility. Flexibility is for everybody. That being said, regardless of one’s body composition, nutrition can play a role in your body’s ability to be bendy.

We’ll cover all this in-depth in the course!

Why this challenge matters...

When you’re stiff you feel trapped in your body and limited in your self expression as a performer.

As dancers, our bodies are our tools for storytelling.

Like writing with a Sharpie versus a ballpoint pen, being able to reach, stretch, bend, extend, or fold even one or two inches further can make a huge difference in the story you’re telling.

You deserve to share your stories without limitation.

Beyond that, forget being the dancer in your mind’s eye, when you feel stiff, sore and restricted even day-to-day human activities feel frustrating, challenging, and inaccessible.

How’d you hurt your shoulder? Oh, washing your hair the wrong way? Nice…

Ah, your neck is wrecked from what? Sleeping on the wrong pillow? Gotcha…

Your hips are tight from what? Working in your garden? Yikes…

And so on, and so forth.

You’re a human before and after you’re a dancer.

Maintaining flexibility and strength is essential to navigating this world with ease and longevity!

Who this program absolutely is not for…

While we deeply believe that flexibility is for every BODY and improving your flexibility is only a few minutes away, we also recognize that FlexiBuild might not be best for some people…

For example…

If you hate making more progress (in less time) on your flexibility goals…

If you deeply believe getting flexible requires oversplits, ankle-weights, and being sat on…

If you can’t break the belief  that because you were “born flexible” you can’t become flexible…

If you are currently injured, you might not be able to participate fully in the program… Honestly, just grab it anyway and use it when you’re feeling better!
